Kruunuvuorenranta new seaside area is equipped with Automated Solid Waste Collection System (AWCS by Marimatic Ltd).

Area’s irregular geography lead in fitting the building into steep cliffside. Building’s functions were wished to cover from street, why building’s facades were composed without windows. Facade system is based on idea of lichen (jäkälä) growing on rock. The structure of lichen was vectorised into triangular patterns casted on concrete elements. Three-dimensional concrete element casting method was developed during the project.

Project was granted Concrete Facade Architecture Award 2017.

Project was awarded 1/2018 the Concrete Structure of the year 2017.
